Mobile data has effectively become a currency in today’s world; people want to know how much they are spending, on what, and where. And in the mobile era, controlling mobile data usage has become more vital than ever. Current forecasts predict that more than one in four of the world’s population will have more than one mobile device by 2016, while further research suggests that we look at our mobile devices around 150 times a day. So amidst these changing mobile usage habits, and falling voice and SMS revenues, how do operators ensure that mobile data remains a viable revenue stream?

Shared data plans give subscribers more control and choice over mobile data usage while letting operators drive fast 4G LTE device take-up while removing competition on voice, SMS and MMS. OPEX can also be reduced through fewer contact center interactions being required. See the latest infographic we produced for Alcatel-Lucent below for a look at how shared data plans are the way forward.
